Cricket lovers were undoubtedly unsatisfied and disheartened to learn that the VB Cup, or the famous Triangular trophy that follows every foreign team’s Australian tour, is no longer being conducted. The last one being won by India comprehensively.
Yet a one sided match is being witnessed and is targeted towards a White Wash!
Formula 1 gurus, pundits and students were furious that the world famous race, the season starter, The Australian GP might be taken away from them.
Yet, there is one more “race” going on, in the streets of Australia. The race of “Racism”.
Unfortunately, Asians, mostly Indians are being targeted. And nothing in this case has been done so far by either government except posting 2 individual and ‘Invisible’ boards to look into this matter. These boards were nothing but the crow frightening statues in the farms. The crows are smart and white here. They aren’t afraid!
No one except the victims is caught till now. They too were by some Desi’s and/or by some not so racist whites.
There has been a death. Posted.
Couple of vehicles burned.
And numerous bodies tortured by mobs out of pure color fantasy.
People might compare it with the numerous killings happened and happening in the USA and may try to take a take on the topic as a global phenomenon. But I would like to make a difference in the stroke I paint here.
In the US, the killings were done mostly by the one’s who are oppressed from the day it evolved. May it be a black or a Mexican or a Native American. The pain given to the others was not out of racial discomfort rather out of poor facilities and most of the times in a hit and run cause but not a direct ‘Huh, I am bored mate, let’s kick some asian a$$’ kind of hatred and mindset.
Australia is a country that draws money more or less through tourist visits and mostly through the foreign students trying to learn a bit and earn a buck there. The foreign students are unfortunately more than 75% from the Asian countries. So its easy to hit them than miss them. Genuinely sharper than the whites, the Asians are facing racism in the steps of university itself. More marks – more merit – more trouble!
Nothing in the regards of the suffering has been done so far. The peaceful protest to notify the world of the problem turned violent and let raise some White eye brows. The Australian government is quick to promise a quick solution to the problem, but haven’t been instrumental in executing the same. While I write the words, another Indian is targeted badly.
The Indian government is very busy posting the new ministers, and understandably can’t pressurize the White Aussies to take a stick on the culprits. we have our own problems! While the unprotected Indian women in Australia are facing immense trouble to stand there alone, we are busy placing a Women Reservation bill in the parliament turning a blind eye to the may be victims. So much to the women empowerment! Protect them first!
There are student communities and groups which are very fiercely trying to address the problem, but the problem is very much evolved and couldn’t be apprehended easily by powerless students. It requires a much powerful government and the international communities help to address the situation. It is wise to understand the suffering and help them to come out unscathed.
But right now, it is… Hell Down Under!
P.S: I just had a glimpse of We the People on ND Tv, and it was being discussed, media has exaggerated the attacks and gave a color of racism to the attacks which are the end result of the Economic meltdown affecting Australia(!) and has nothing to do with race.
There is another point made: India also has a strong hint of Racist Country, talking about Dalits! But it has something do with ethnicity they said?
Food For Thought!
